Assiniboine Park Zoo: High School Program "The Role of Zoos in a Changing Climate"
This program begins at school through a series of Zoo developed pre-teach lesson plans intended to activate students’ understanding of the impacts of climate change on the Western Hudson Bay polar bear population. Student’s knowledge is extended on-site through a GPS scavenger hunt of the Journey to Churchill exhibit and a classroom component that explores how the Assiniboine Park Zoo is contributing to the research, conservation and public education around polar bears and the impacts of climate change. Maximum of 30 students/program.
