Riparian areas are found around all water bodies, and function to filter nutrients, sediment and pollution out of rainfall runoff. Healthy riparian areas mean cleaner lakes and streams. During this program, students will assess vegetation, soils and water quality of the shoreline along a FortWhyte lake or wetland, and complete a checklist to reveal how well our riparian filter is working. Dates: September 17 – November 7, May 4 – June 24 Minimum: 10 students, Maximum: 30 students Length: 2 hours
